Perfect Fit is a landscape puzzle of the musical life of award-winning fiddler Patrick McAvinue. From his multi-genre studies at Towson University, through his tenures with bluegrass artists Audie Blaylock & Redline and Dailey & Vincent, making dream appearances on the Grand Ole Opry, and pushing the boundaries of traditional Irish fiddle tunes with jazz flavorings through his own band Charm City Junction, Patrick captures all of his personal history into songs that, as a group, defy categorization. He paints a modern interpretation of a classic song style with “Waltz for Kelly.” He demonstrates that he can steer comfortably on the Americana highway with “Voice In Your Ear.” He doesn’t forget the fun and excitement of bluegrass jamming by giving the listener the breakneck “Der Belsnickel.” He even lets the listener know he has a respect for modern rock music with a sweet, sensitive take on Radiohead’s “Gagging Order.” There is a reason Patrick has won both the Momentum Award and Fiddle Player of the Year Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association. The series first turned heads with Bluegrass 1995, which was the IBMA winner for “Recorded Event of the Year.” The artists who appeared on each year’s release were representative of who Vestal was doing active sessions with. It was that inspiration and connectivity that made it possible for them to make memorable recordings. Bringing in Patrick McAvinue (Dailey & Vincent), Cody Kilby (Ricky Skaggs), Dominick Leslie (Hawktail), and brother Curtis Vestal is no coincidence. They are all often recording at Vestal’s Digital Underground studio outside of Nashville.
In addition to all-new material, also featured on the record are fresh takes on tracks made famous by Bluegrass legends Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs. On the newer side, multiple tracks were penned by Bluegrass 2020 members Scott Vestal and Patrick McAvinue, plus a very special track written by Moon Mullican.

CHARM CITY FIDDLE FAVORITES, VOL. 1
After a couple of late nights recording sessions, Patrick amassed 77 minutes of solo fiddle (that's right, solo) to aid in the learning of common Bluegrass, Irish and Oldtime session tunes of his hometown, Baltimore, MD. There are 16 of his favorite tunes featured. Each tune is recorded twice - first at a jam tempo, and again very slowly. This CD is intended for jammers looking to expand their repertoire, and/or music lovers who simply enjoy listening to fiddle music!
